A guest lecture was organized on 21st October in the SRMSCET campus. Prof. Michel Nguiffo Boyom from the Department of Mathematics of University of Science and Technology, France was invited. Prof. Boyom wears many hats – an academician, a philosopher and a renowned personality. He has published 21 books and also authored many papers on Tie Groups and Differential Geometry. He spoke about the application of Mathematics in Engineering and said “those who offer selfless service to the nation are the builders of the nation and the pride of their race and breed.”. He discussed the basic topics of Mathematics such as linear relations, implicit functions, calculus, Taylor’s expansion, etc along with their applications.
The session was a real treat for the attending students as they got to know the newer aspects in the field of Mathematics from such an eminent personality.
