On 9 October, the Computer Science and Information Technology departments at Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology, Bareilly conducted the state level technical festival COMPTECH 2018, sponsored by CSI.
The Inaugural Session
The Inaugural Session of the one-day technical festival started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and Saraswati Vandana. The session was attended by Mr Subhash Mehra (Administrator, SRMS Trust), Professor Prabhakar Gupta (Dean, Academics), Professor L.S. Maurya (Coordinator, Tech Fest), and Mr Anuj Kumar (Head, TDP Cell).
Welcoming the dignitaries and participants, Professor L.S. Maurya introduced the objectives and the events of the tech fest. Then Mr Anuj Kumar, in his speech, appreciated the scope of the programme organized by the Computer Science and Information Technology departments. In the presidential address, Mr Shubash Mehra encouraged the participants and underlined the benefits of events and activities focusing on technology. Presenting the vote of thanks, Professor Prabhakar Gupta congratulated everyone for making COMPTECH 2018 a reality.
The Events
In all, there were 7 events (6 individual and 1 team event): Computer Quiz, eTreasure Hunt, Act To Present, DoDoodle, Let’s Code In C (for 1st year students), Let’s Code In C (for all), and Let’s Code In Java (for all). Of the total 843 participants from M.Tech., B.Tech., and MCA programmes, 581 students were from SRMS CET, while 262 students represented SRMS CETR.
Computer Quiz
A set of 50 questions based on computer fundamentals and latest technologies to test computing skills.

Unlocking password protected folders by decoding passwords and solving problems through programming.

Act To Present
Presenting PPTs on the given theme, with the final assessment based on the quality of the content and the presentation.

An individual event to showcase creativity through imaginative doodles.

COMPTECH 2018, the one-day technical festival focusing on coding in various languages, witnessed active participation from first year and senior students. The tech fest stood out for its range of events that encouraged the application of classroom learning to address practical problems and to create and innovate.
