Alumni Guest Lecture – “Intellectual Property Rights” – Mr. Manish Kumar

SRMS Trust run institutions regularly hold guest lectures on campus, which provide students with practical perspectives on topical industry issues. Under the Alumni Lecture Series by the Training, Development & Placement Cell of SRMS CET, Bareilly, A guest lecture was organized on “Intellectual Property Rights”. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Manish Kumar, Associate Principal, Infosys who is an alumni of SRMS CET Batch 1999. Mr. Kumar works with the Corporate Audits, Assessments and Certification Group of Infosys. In his current role, he manages complex audit program within the organization, its various subsidiaries, legal entities and vendors too.

Manish started his career from a Public Sector Unit – Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in the year 2003, and later worked with various IT Majors like Hewlett-Packard, Cegedim Dendrite Group, Tecnotree Corporation, Finland & Wipro, before joining Infosys. He is well known in the Industry for his contribution towards identification of Commercialization Risks, Risk Profiling for Mergers and Acquisition, DRM Technologies and identification of Contractual Risks in Large Deals. He is an established Lead Auditor for various ISO standards like 9001, 27001, 20000, 22301, 15489, AS 9100 Revision D & has participated as Assessment Team Member (ATM) in his previous organizations for various CMMI – SCAMPI Assessments.

In his lecture, Mr. Kumar emphasized on the challenges being faced by various sectors globally, such as the disruption caused by the US elections, opportunities for the technology sector, etc. The lecture inculcated a great sense of awareness regarding the basic Rights of the Cyber World among the students and is expected to be very useful for these future professionals of a digitized work. He ended the session by quoting great lines given by Honorable Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam “Mind on the margins is not marginal minds”

The session was well attended with more than 200 students from all the disciplines benefiting. As much as students benefited from the session, SRMS CET is proud of its alumni who choose to make the effort of helping students who follow them.

He also honored the inauguration ceremony of the Innovation & Incubation Cell with his presence and committed to provide all necessary guidance and support for the effective functioning of the Cell.
