Engineer’s Day Celebration at SRMS College of Engineering and Technology, Unnao

Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology, Unnao has celebrated Engineer’s Day on 15th September 2018 on the occasion of birthday of Bharat Ratna and great engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (Sir MV). Sir MV, who was a proud recipient of India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 1955, is best known for his cutting edge research, innovation and hard work. He is recognized for his mastermind in harnessing water resources as he had successfully designed and constructed several river dams, bridges and revolutionized the irrigation system in India by implementing irrigation and drinking water system all over India.

The theme of Engineers Day -2018 is “Engineering Challenges for Knowledge Era”. On this occasion, the students and faculty members pledged to contribute significantly and positively towards engineering profession with dedication and determinations.

The celebration started with lighting of lamp and welcome address by Dr Anant Srivastava, Principal of the college. Engineer Ravi Verma, Founder & Director, RV Industries Kanpur, was the chief guest for this Engineer’s Day celebration of the college. He introduced himself to the students describing his professional education and his personal achievements. He motivated the students for becoming successful as well as innovative through hard work and dedication towards studies and projects. The programme was organized by Oasis Club of the students.

A poster model and quiz competition based on the engineers’ day theme was also organized on this occasion. Team consists of Durga Prasad Singh and Sunetra Pathak of EC Final Year won the quiz competition while Sonam Agrahari of CS Second Year won the poster competition. Durga Prasad Singh (EC-2015 batch) was awarded with the best engineer award for the academic session 2017-18.
