Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology (SRMS CET), Bareilly conducted a Campus Outreach Program at Army Public School, Bareilly. The program was conducted on 26 October and was coordinated by MR. SK Saxena (Lecturer).

Approximately 60 Class 12 students participated in the Career Counseling Session that was conducted as part of the program.

The programme was started by Mr. Sumit Saxena – Faculty SRMS CET&R, Basic Science Department who talked about the objective of the session, which was to have self introspection about career decisions and the way we take those decisions.

He also provided a brief about SRMS Trust and the institutions run by it, their achievements and the many milestones they have crossed. Mr.Anubhav Saxena – Faculty SRMS CET also explained the purpose of the Campus Outreach Program by highlighting the various issues on which the students should start thinking actively.

The program was conducted in workshop mode and started with thought provoking questions about life choices, interests, goals, and aspirations.Taking lead from these questions, the session went on delve into issues of productivity, time management, and managing distractions in the age of social media.

Students also actively participated on the issue of social media and career planning. Many students accepted that they do reverse planning before their exams for studies but somehow missed the scheduled routine that was actually helpful. They agreed that they are lacking somewhere in self control and concentration power.

The program faculty tried to solve these queries and tried to come up with creative solutions for the concerns presented by students. It was a healthy discussion between speaker and students. Students also requested for such sessions in future so as to assist them in their true career planning and decision making in life.

The session came to its end by motivational words of Robin Sharma “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them”.
