What can you manage to do in a minute? Seems quite a bit, as demonstrated by Minute-To- Win- It – a game show of 60 seconds duration recently organized by Pulse, the HR club of Shri Ram Murti Smarak International Business School (SRMS IBS), Lucknow. The idea was to put management students of the B-School through a series of challenges to test creativity and presence of mind. With students improvising with objects commonly available in a house, the tasks became more interesting and enjoyable.
In all, 120 students started Level 1, “Utha Patak, Straw Se Jhatak”. It was an exciting 1-minute for all participants, who had to go solo in their efforts. Those who made it through the round were up for Level 2, “Langdi Chaal, Khel Bemisaal”. With the difficulty meter turned up a few notches with every level, future managers had to bring their A-game to the table to succeed.
In Level 3, “Taal Mel Ka Khel”, it was all about coordination, an important trait for corporate professionals. Only 10 out of the initial group made it through these rounds to Level 4, “Doori Bhaapo, Nishana Sadho” – the concluding round which had students vying for top honours. Finally the top three performers walked away with cash prizes for their efforts.
But actually all participants turned out winners. Apart from understanding and applying various concepts of Human Resources, students could showcase their talent and display diverse skills. Being an event replete with fun and laughter, the exercise added a new dimension to the learning process. With students getting inspired to display their agility and dexterity, Minute-To- Win-It was a roaring success for both organizers and participants.
