Interspersing insights with anecdotes,
The session began with Abhishek elaborating on the current market scenario. With over 6 years of corporate experienceacross Himalaya, Parle, and Bajaj Corporation, he correlated Sales and Distribution concepts and urged students to effectively market themselves: “Marketing yourself is the very first step when you enter the corporate world.’’
He continued, “A good salesman sells himself before he sells his products.” Abhishek firmly believes in staying high on self-confidence to excel in Sales and Distribution. To begin with, “Try and crack the first interview in the first attempt!”
He advised students to be “SMART” in setting their life goals. SMART is an acronym, where S – Specific, M –Measurable, A –Attainable, R – Realistic, and T –Time-bound.
Abhishek feels students need to build personal brandsto grab professional opportunities. Extra-curricular activities, academic excellence, and all-round development help complete the project“Self”. Every student should try to undertake “SWOT analysis”, a useful assessment tool, before appearing for an interview.
The interaction helped to further inspire and motivate the students as they explored new directionsand preparedfor the next steps in their career path.
