DEPARTMENT OF RADIOTHERAPY

Ram Rakhi Cancer Institute and Research center was inaugurated on 30th September 2008 to provide integrated oncology services, which focuses on delivering the right treatment and support to patients, as early as possible in their cancer journey.

The hospital is all set to provide quality cancer care- Surgical, Radiation & Medical oncology all under one roof with full range of diagnostics. The team consists of eminent doctors from AIIMS, New Delhi, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, TATA MEMORIAL CENTRE, Mumbai, RAJIV GANDHI CANCER HOSPITAL, New Delhi, RCC, Trivandrum & Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai. The management of all the patients undergo a stringent vigilance of “Tumor Board” which comprises of specialists from various departments.

Functioning under the auspices of the Department of Radiotherapy, it is equipped with two High Energy Linear Accelerators and 30 channel HDR Brachytherpy. The newly installed Linear Accelerator TRUE BEAM is high precision radiation equipment that has evolved recently to treat the cancers. It is the most sophisticated and expensive cancer treatment machines available today in the world. TRUE BEAM machine performs radiation treatments with high precision and speed. The radiation dose can be delivered with 0.3mm precision around the tumor with minimum collateral damage.

The mission of this Cancer Institute is to develop a comprehensive protocol based cancer treatment to all the patients with the support of different clinical departments especially ENT, gynecology and General Surgery.
