Extempore platform enjoyed by MBA students of SRMS college of engineering and technology

Placement Activity is a part of regular academic schedule for first year students to prepare them acquire employ ability skills under the continuous monitoring of faculty members. In this context, Faculty of Management Science (FMS), MBA Department at SRMS College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET) Bareilly conducted a Placement Activity (Group Discussion) on January 4, 2023, which was headed by Raghawendra Kumar, Assistant Professor at SRMS CET.

The activity comprised of a Group Discussion (GD) exercise for first year students, wherein 20 students were divided into two groups A & B of 10 students each. The respective topics of GD were ‘Morale Policing on Movie Making: Is it desirable?’ and ‘Should Students participate in Active Politics?’ However, the objective of the program was to make students aware about the social and current issues India is confronting with, to inculcate group dynamics and develop communications skills among students, and to prepare them for job placement.

GROUP A: Students put forward their viewpoints efficiently and supplemented their arguments with real time examples. The group member Chhaya Bora took initiative and concluded sharing group member’s viewpoints. She was well competed against by Sunidhi Malick and Deepak Singh. Overall, the activity witnessed forceful arguments and counter-arguments, and later, it was concluded that movie making is one of the fundamental rights of citizens related to free speech and expression, but it should not undermine the national and moral values. Also, vulgarity and obscenity can never be promoted in the name of right of free speech and expression.

GROUP B: The discussion was initiated by Neha Sinha, accompanied by counter arguments by Honey Bhatiya, Nikunj, Mayank, Yuvraj and others. It was concluded that student’s participation will help in reforming the political system by minimizing the ill impact of caste, creed and religion on politics, which has poisoned the political atmosphere of the country.
In the end, students were blessed with valuable inputs from esteemed faculty members of FMS namely, Dr. DN Rao, Dr Danish Mohammad Chishti and Happy Sinha.
