For Ritvik Agarwal industry interactions are integral to the learning experience at SRMS

Ritvik Agarwal was drawn to SRMS because of its reputation and longstanding history. He wanted to get industry exposure during his engineering program and be ready for his future career. Today the Mechanical Engineering student of SRMS CET, Bareilly is glad that he made the right decision. He talks about his experience and growth at the college: “I would rate it as 8 out of 10 so far, but that’s because I know there is further scope to grow. I am getting solid technical background with valuable industry exposure. What more could I ask for?”

Industry interactions are a significant part of learning

Ritvik asserts that his college has given him a strong technical foundation through a program that is versatile and in keeping with today’s needs. He talks about the modern laboratory facilities and the central workshop that complement his learning. But it’s the industry interaction sessions that remain the highlight for him. “As a student you can only dream of interacting with some of the big names from the industry. We have learned from professionals who have taught us about the industry, presentation, and personality development.”

At SRMS students often visit industrial units to get a feel of the professional world. According to Ritvik, learning about the industrial environment firsthand is a massive advantage at this stage in his life. He talks about visits to the Railway workshop and Roza power plants, which were unique experiences. “I believe industrial visits help us learn things that years of study wouldn’t be able to. Through our visits I have learned about professionalism, teamwork, and leadership.”

Focus on grooming personality

In fact, his confidence has seen a major boost during the time at SRMS. Ritvik calls it a major part of the transformation he has seen in himself, thanks to initiatives at his college that bring out different facets of a student’s personality. “I took part in Techvyom 2017, where my team designed and developed chain reactions and won the second spot. I also participated in a dance team event last year. We are constantly encouraged to participate in as many activities as possible. That helps us to shine in many different ways.”
