24th August was the day when freshers from different streams at SRMS CET, Bareilly and SRMS CETR were welcomed into SRMS family. As is the tradition, seniors from both colleges organized Freshers party with much enthusiasm. Packed with several fun filled moments and ice breaking activities, the juniors were given a warm welcome on the campus, which will be their second home during the course of their programs.

Shri Ram Murti Smarak Centennial Auditorium was the venue for the remarkable start to the 23rd Freshers program at SRMS CET. The event was blessed by the presence of Shri Dev Murti ji, Chairman, SRMS Trust and many dignitaries from different walks of life. Traditional lighting of the lamp followed by girl’s choir, and classical dance performance to invoke blessings of Lord Ganesha started the proceedings on an auspicious note.

Shri Dev Murti ji then inspired the students with his talk. He urged them to never compromise on their ideals and keep doing their best. The pep talk was another boost to the students’ energy, which reached a high with an electrifying dance performance. A number of events including satirical play, comic dramas, and mock rock presented by students from different streams brought laughter and joy to the proceedings.

IT, EN, and B. Pharm students then participated in a glamorous Fashion Show that dazzled the audience. But there were several touching moments as well including the video second year B. Pharm students had created for their juniors. A minute’s silence was observed for second year student Jatin Singh, who passed away. It is emotional moments like these that truly bond the freshers with their new family.

But the party wouldn’t be complete without the coveted titles. Waris and Natasha won Mr. and Ms. Fresher crown while Prashant and Apoorva were Mr. and Ms. Talent from the new MCA Batch. The B. Tech – IT batch had Aniket Tripathi and Tanya Singhal as Mr. and Ms. Fresher, Saumya Sharma and Mifra Fatima as Mr. and Ms. Impressive, and Ashish Kumar Dubey and Amisha Saxena as Mr. and Ms. Talented. Mayank Mishra won the Mr. Funtoosh crown. Acheendra Dev Singh and Sulbhi Shahab were Mr. and Ms. Fresher of the MBA Batch while Aditya Pratap Singh and Anu Swere walked away with the Mr. and Ms. Talented titles.

Over at SRMS CETR, freshers and their seniors had turned out in their elegant best for the party. Somya Maniktala set the tone for the event with a devotional song. Gauri Tanaya then performed the perennial favorite ‘Neele Neele amber par’, which in many ways symbolized student aspirations. The party then took off with group dance performances on traditional and contemporary Bollywood numbers.

Students walked the ramp in their glamorous outfits for the fashion show that displayed their confidence to the fullest. Freshers were given titles, which added a huge dollop of fun to the event. Amrita Mishra and Aman Pradhan walked away with Ms. Fresher and Mr. Fresher honors. All students then took to the dance floor and grooved to foot tapping numbers. That was the free spirited, fitting finale for the Freshers Party.
