International Conference On – “Emerging Issues on Contemporary Business Practices in the Era of Intelligence” (EICBI)

The Department of MBA and MCA, Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly, organized the 2nd International Conference on “Emerging Issues on Contemporary Business Practices in the Era of Intelligence” (EICBI) on 28th November 2020, in association with UN Global Compact Network India and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow.

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity and to enable this, the conference was organized by connecting with prominent Researchers/Academicians/Industrialists in hybrid mode. The conference was aimed at providing the participants with much needed insight on the ongoing distortions in business practices owing to increasing complexities and competitiveness. This endeavor provided a dynamic forum to interact and exchange ideas on the dimensions and accessibility for existing and upcoming business ventures.

The conference was graced by the presence of several dignitaries who spared their valuable time to address the gathering in both offline and online modes. The dignitaries present were Shri Aditya Murti – Secretary SRMS Trust, Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, Director at IIM Nagpur, Dr. Hamid Saremi President (Chancellor) Asrar Higher Education Institute (Deemed to be University) – Mashad –Iran- Mr. Anurag Kulshreshtha, President CEO, Anantics Inc. Livonia, Michigan, United States, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Professor and Dean at Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana, Mr. Rishikesh Patankar, Chief Operating Office-Education, Skill development and CSC Academy-Governance Services India Ltd, New Delhi, Dr. Shobhika Mukul, Associate Professor, SGND Khalsa College, University of Delhi, Dr. Anuj Kumar (Head MCA department, SRMS CET, Bareilly), Dr. Ruchi Jain Garg (Head MBA Department, SRMS CET, Bareilly), and Dr. Lalit Singh (Director Pharmacy, SRMS CET, Bareilly). The ceremony was witnessed by heads and faculty members of various departments from SRMS CET and sister institutions.

The inaugural session began with the welcome address by Prof (Dr.) Prabhakar Gupta – Dean Academics SRMSCET. Dr. Prabhakar Gupta also talked about contemporary business practices. He conceptualized the idea of communication, coordination and conjunction in this era of networking. This session was conducted by Dr. Ankita Tandon.

Further Prof (Dr.) Anuj Kumar – Head Training and Placement Cell and MCA Department, SRMSCET, Bareilly introduced the theme of the conference. In his address, he spoke about the inevitable existence and need of technology in all spheres of life today. He talked about key mantras of survival in this age of technology and Artificial Intelligence.

The session was further graced by Shri Aditya Murti – Secretary SRMS Trust. He spoke about learning the ways to imbibe advanced technology in the work sphere as well. He highlighted the positive and negative impact of AI on society as it continues to transform the world we live in. He further emphasized that AI can dramatically improve the efficiencies of the workplace and augment the work humans do. The conference was backed by the immense motivation and support of our Honorable Chairman Sir – Shri Dev Murti ji.
The informative session was graced by Guest of Honor Dr. Hamid Saremi President (Chancellor) Asrar Higher Education Institute(Deemed to be University) – Mashad –Iran. He, in his compelling address, focused mainly on the revolution of AI and its role in different economies of the world. Talking about the current pandemic, he added that life has to go on and in this situation, we should not lose hope.

The session also had a talk by (Dr.) Bhimaraya Metri, Director at IIM Nagpur – Chief Guest for the session. He acknowledged all the eminent panelists who joined the conference. He talked about mantras of innovation and adaption, digital learning, Machine Learning, cross functional skills, HR assessment tools, liquid workforce, theory of unlearn, learn, relearn and so on. It was a very insightful session.

Mr. Anurag Kulshreshtha, President CEO,Anantics Inc. Livonia, Michigan, United States, delivered an edifying session. He emphasized the need for preparing industry-ready graduates. He drew attention towards incorporation of technology and use of sensors, auto IT technology, RFID, data reality, virtual reality, and cyber security and so on. The session ended with his motivating address to students where he emphasized the magic of dreaming big and shared tactics to turn impossibilities into possibilities.

The technical sessions of the conference started with zeal, and there were a number of presentations and research ideas to be conveyed. Five parallel sessions were conducted in different tracks and were chaired by Dr. Monika Seth, Dr. Vandana Mehta, Dr. Vivek Pachauri, Dr. Atul Shiva, Dr. Manjula Singh, Dr. P. S. Ray Chaudhuri, Dr. Sivarethina Mohan R, Dr. Shweta Sharma, Prof (Dr.) D. P. Kothari and Prof (Dr.) Manju Nath. Around 300 participants registered for the conference from different institutes across the nation and took part in the international e-conference.

We received more than 60 papers from all corners of the country and few from abroad that added fervor to the conference and enlightened everyone with the fact that “Every act worth doing has a learning curve”.

All the eminent speakers and participants were provided with e-Certificates. All the participants were thankful to the management of SRMS CET, Bareilly, for the plethora of information that was provided in the sessions, and helped them utilize their time during this pandemic in a very useful manner.

The valedictory session started with calling the house to the order by MOC Ms. Swapnil Mishra followed by Dr. Ruchi Jain Garg, Head MBA Department, giving brief details of the whole event systematically in which she highlighted topics covered by speakers along with the learning outcomes for participants.

It started with a spell-binding session by Mr. Rishikesh Patankar, Chief Operating Office-Education, Skill development and CSC Academy-Governance Services India Ltd, New Delhi –the Chief Guest of the session where he focused on the importance of research and development activities in today’s scenario and their progress in the interest of mankind. He congratulated the conference organizers on having chosen the most apt topic for discussion and deliberation and appreciated the participants for showing their zeal and enthusiasm in the knowledge-sharing session.

The session proceeded with an informative and encouraging talk by Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Kumar, Professor and Dean at Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Bhiwani, Haryana. He discussed how the business world is becoming smarter with modern technology. He also briefed about the upheavals existing in the supply chains of businesses during this pandemic.

Dr. Shobhika Mukul, Associate Professor, SGNO Khalsa College, and University of Delhi, further addressed the session with these emphatic opening remarks: “The coming era of Artificial Intelligence will not be the era of war, but be the era of deep compassion, non-violence, and love.” She emphasized that as more Artificial Intelligence enters the world, more emotional intelligence must enter leadership.

The international conference ended with a hearty vote of thanks by Dr. Deepesh Tiwari, Conference Convener.

Track 5: “Digitalizing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises for Inclusive Growth in India” – Ms. Sadaf Ahmad
Heartiest thanks to all the Conference Conveners, Organizing Secretaries, Faculty coordinators from MBA and MCA departments who put in their hard effort to make the onference a success. The Faculty members to name for this thriving journey include Prof (Dr.) Anuj Kumar, Dr. Ruchi Jain Garg, Dr. Mohd Salman Shamsi, Dr. Mohd. Danish Chishti, Dr. Deepesh Tiwari, Mr. Arvind Mishra and Mr. Abhay Bhadauria. The constant support of Student Coordinators was also substantial in making this conference a huge success.
