Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET) (Pharmacy), Bareilly in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association (Delhi State Branch, New Delhi) celebrated a National Pharmacy Week, 2022 on November 25th, 2022 on the theme ‘Pharmacy of the World—India’. The aim of this awareness program was to ‘Promote Rational Use of Medicine’. The event was marked in the form of a rally and a webinar, which was quite an enriching experience for everyone.
A PURPOSEFUL RALLY
During the event, a theme-based rally took place from SRMS CET, Bareilly and culminated at Abhaypur, followed by Prahaladpur, where students performed ‘Nukkad Natak’—a Street Play, on raising awareness on the ethical and logical use of medicines. At the rally, several informative slogans were aired in the wake of generating awareness on rational use of medicines like ‘bimayrio ke samay doctor ki rate janane ki daalein adat’, ‘hamesha iss baat ka rakhein khayal sahi dawai ka hi karein upchar’ etc. The second phase of the rally took place at Prahaladpur, wherein a ‘Street Play’ was performed by the final year students of Pharmacy department. Finally, the rally proceeded to Kanya Purva Madhiyatmik Vidyalaya, Prahaladpur.
AN INFORMATIVE WEBINAR
During the National Pharmacy Week celebrations, a Webinar was also organized on the topic ‘Pharmacy of the World-India’ from 1:45PM-4:10PM at Pharmacy Seminar Hall, SRMS CET, Bareilly. The Keynote Speakers of the Webinar were Dr Sonia Pandey, Principal at Sakshi College of Pharmacy, Kanpur, and Dr Vijay B Lambole, Associate Professor & HOD at Datta Meghe College of Pharmacy, Salod (H), Wardha. During the Webinar, the keynote speakers informed about the booming pharmaceutical industry of India, which is a leading source of path-breaking innovation, especially when it comes to providing life-saving medicines. The esteemed speakers also discussed factors causing irrational use of medicines due to lack of knowledge and awareness.
The program was well coordinated by Shruti Saxena, Chairperson, Pharmquimica Club; Shipra Sharma, Faculty In-charge, Pharmquimica Club; Dr Jitendra Singh Yadav, Professor at Department of Pharmacy, and the convener of the event was Dr Arti Gupta, Director Pharmacy.
