For Shashank, his time at SRMS CET, Bareilly has been a thrilling journey. In his four years here, he has not only received a world-class education, but has also had the opportunity to indulge in extra-curricular activities, make friends for life, embrace the virtues of discipline and hard work that will stay with him for the rest of his life.

He credits his faculty and mentors for the transformational journey he has been, saying “The faculty members and mentors are the key players in our journey as they made us ready for placements. The faculty members have always motivated us at each step, helped us in critical situations and guided us to overcome difficulties along our journey.”

The rigorous selection process that Shashank went through at Mindtree is something that SRMS CET students are prepared for by the institute. The Employability Skills Enhancement Program (ESEP) is where the guidance of teachers, seniors and friends are shared among students. These programs are helpful in guiding students on a path to success and giving them the relevant knowledge for interviews. The PDP is where students are made ready for public speaking and makes them break the barriers of nervousness by giving everyone an opportunity to speak. This helps students become prepared for the interview process. Additional practice is achieved through the mock sessions organised by the TDP cell which help identify improvement areas.

Besides this, regular industry expert interactions also help students. The industry experts and alumni keep students informed of what the industry requirements are and what has to be done to make them ready for industry careers.

Shashank counts his internship experience as extremely valuable. “Internship is a stage where we have to decide which path we want to choose before entering into our last year of the programme,” he says. “I learnt a lot in my internship process and got the chance to work on live projects, which gave me the experience of industry work and the pressure attached to it,” he adds.

Shashank now looks forward to the next leg of his professional journey even as he reminisces about his campus days. “I will surely be in touch with all my friends and will be pleased to visit the campus whenever I got the opportunity” he reflects.
