SRMS PHARMACY STUDENTS APPRISED WITH EMPOWERING LECTURE ON WOMEN LEGAL RIGHTS

The Pharmquimica Club of SRMS College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET), Pharmacy, Bareilly organized a Guest Lecture on the topic ‘Empowering of Women through legal awareness’ for the students of Pharmacy recently at Pharmacy Seminar Hall, which was delivered by the Special Guest and Key Note Speaker, Sushma Sagar, an Assistant Professor, Department of Law at SRMS CET&R.

The event began with the ceremonial welcome of the delegate in the presence of Dr Arti Gupta, Director of Pharmacy, all faculty members and students of the department. The lecture on women empowerment was quite inspiring and motivating that aimed to empower women to stand up for the injustice they face in society, and to create awareness on different legal rights that women possess. During the lecture, Sushma Sagar emphasized on the importance of women’s legal rights, and their access to legal support. She highlighted upon inadequate wages, unequal roles assigned at home and lack of recognition of the true potential that women possess. Later, she stressed on the need to curb gender bias in the existing Indian society. The thought-provoking session concluded with discussions and interactive sessions. The lecture was immensely beneficial for all women attendees, to comprehend their lawful rights.
