In a world chasing \u2018more\u2019, students at SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CET&R), Bareilly<\/strong> <\/a>hit pause to question \u2014 does materialism really lead to fulfilment? <\/p>\n

Recently, the CS Seminar Hall buzzed with bold ideas and powerful speeches during a Declamation Competition<\/strong> themed \u201cMaterialism\u2019s Futile Quest for Fulfilment.\u201d<\/strong> The event wasn\u2019t just another competition; it was part of a global conversation and a movement, commemorating the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace <\/strong>and aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students from across SRMS Trust Institutions<\/strong><\/a> took the stage, dissecting society's obsession with material wealth and offering fresh perspectives on what truly brings lasting contentment. The message was loud and clear\u2014happiness can't be bought; it\u2019s found in purpose, peace, and connection.<\/p>\n

Adding weight to the event were distinguished guests like Er Subhash Mehra,<\/strong> Trust Advisor, and Dr Shailesh Saxena,<\/strong> Dean Academics, SRMS CET&R, whose presence inspired participants to bring their A-game. The competition was evaluated by an esteemed panel including Lakhendra Kumar Chhokar,<\/strong><\/a> Principal, SRMS College of Law; Dr Shailendra Kumar Singh,<\/strong> Professor, Basic Science; & Dr Shivank Chaudhary, <\/strong>DSW, SRMSIPS. Towards the end, winners were felicitated, wherein, Shambhavi Singh<\/strong> (SRMS IMS) stood First and wowed the judges with her sharp analysis and magnetic delivery. Vedika Chaudhary<\/strong> (SRMS Nursing) impressed with her thought-provoking take on the topic as Runner-Up <\/p>\n

Beyond honing their oratory skills, students walked away with a deeper appreciation for values that foster personal growth and global harmony. The event also strengthened SRMS Trust\u2019s commitment to integrating sustainable development principles across its institutions.<\/p>\n
