Ashwamedha, the Annual Fest of SRMS CET Bareilly and SRMS CETR Bareilly, has started on a high note with students turning out in large numbers for the two day event. Zest 2k17, the Cultural segment of the fest and AAMOD 2k17, the Sports fest were inaugurated today amidst huge enthusiasm. There were several exciting events that were lined up for the day, and zealous student participation made them a huge success.\n<\/p>\n

It was the day students of both the colleges were waiting for and the campuses had taken on a festive mood. Organized by Tyro and Verve, clubs of CET and CETR campus the fest is a celebration of students\u2019 talents and camaraderie. Shri Dev Murti inaugurated Zest 2k17 in a ceremony studded with performances. Students from CET set the stage of fire with their dance performances while a skit depicting Ashwamedha by CETR students made a lasting impact.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS said, \u201cWhatever you do, do your best, plan the tasks at hand, and have a proper time schedule.\u201d He was also present for the inauguration of the sports event, AAMOD 2k17, which got underway today. It was a touching ceremony with the lighting of the torch, sports drill and releasing of doves, which symbolized independence and vibrancy. <\/p>\n

Members of the clubs, Tyro and Verve had taken all the measures to ensure that the events ran smoothly and deserved a pat on their backs for their efforts. Members of Tyro were welcoming of all participants and said, \u201cWe don\u2019t really conduct the event but celebrate it. It\u2019s time to showcase all the stunning talent in our colleges.\u201d For members of Verve, it was about harnessing the age old connection between education, arts, culture and traditions.<\/p>\n

Series of activities lined up for both the events running simultaneously ensured that there were several high moments during the day. Participants put their best step forward on different fields and their contemporaries cheered them on. Held at different venues on campuses of both the colleges, the activities ensured that Day 1 was truly spectacular. Ashwamedha continues tomorrow on 19th Feb.
