He shares why it has been the best decision of his life.

Anshul came to opt for Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering & Technology, Bareilly’s MCA course very consciously. On his decision-making process, he says “I come from Ghaziabad, which has a number of private colleges offering MCA programs. However, when I came to know about SRMS, about their great learning environment and great faculty, I made up my mind to join only SRMS CET, Bareilly.”

Anshul’s decision was validated as soon as he joined the program. The disciplined environment here is something that helps to make students better humans and helps them to focus and develop a deep understanding of the subjects. The benefit of this is really understood when one works in a corporate environment. Reflecting on this time here, Anshul says “With classes starting at 8:00 am and lasting till 4:00 pm for six days in a week, with one break of 10 mins and another lunch break for 30 mins, continuous lectures, lengthy assignments in the first semester, one does work very hard here and that is just as well for our future.”

It isn’t all discipline and hard work only. The faculty at SRMS CET is diligent and they care for every student as they would their own child. Anshul says he still remembers the day when he was frustrated and disappointed due to some senior’s behavior. Anuj Sir and Vineet Sir (then HOD) helped him a lot, behaved like guardians and ensured a healthy environment for study.

All these efforts have culminated in career success for Anshul and he has his experience at SRMS CET to thank for his career growth. In the last 10 years since graduation, he has worked with Software Giants like Adobe, Amdocs, Paypal, Cognizant, Credit Suisse, Morgan Stanley and Ansaldo. He has worked in different places like London, Glasgow, and Israel, and is presently working as Principal Consultant (Development Manager) in Genpact Headstrong Capital Market.

For students who are going to follow a similar career path, he has some experience to share from being part of Interview panels of different companies for the last 5-6 years.“As per my experience, an organization doesn’t expect new technology from a fresher; in fact, most of the interview focused on core subjects likes C/C++/Data Structure/Core Java/Database/OS. I found that some students focus on new technology like Hadoop, Big Data etc., but it doesn’t help. Organizations expect good analytical skills with good knowledge of core subjects, which is sufficient to get selected in good organization,” he advises.

Participation in events like Zest, the mentoring he received from faculty and the world class learning is what has made Anshul the professional that he is. The other bond that persists is the one withbatch mates. “I am in touch with almost all my batch mates,” he says. “All are doing well and working in good organizations like Amazon (New York), Sapient, Morgan Stanley, Accenture, TCS, HCL.”
