SRMS ENGINEERING STUDENTS GAINED VALUABLE INSIGHTS & EXPLORED THE FUTURE OF COOLING TECHNOLOGY DURING THEIR INDUSTRIAL VISIT

The Training and Placement Cell of Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET) Bareilly organized an ‘Industrial Visit’ to Daikin Air Conditioning India Private Limited, Neemrana, Rajasthan for third year students of Electronics and Communication (ECE), Electrical and Electronics (EE) and Mechanical Engineering (ME) students on February 21-22, 2023.
The industrial visit included a tour of Daikin India’s Air Conditioning Manufacturing Plant and a workshop for the students at Daikin Japanese Institute of Manufacturing Excellence (DJIME). Students of the respective branches were accompanied with respective faculty members from the three branches, namely Dhiraj Bajpai (Assistant Professor, ME), Mahendra (Assistant Professor, ECE) and Vikramaditya Singh (Assistant Professor, EEE).
As per scheduled visit, a total of 17 students of the respective branches and faculty members reached Daikin Air Conditioning Private Limited nearly half an hour before the scheduled timings. The students and staff received a welcome by the HR team of Daikin India, who briefed about the various activities and certain rules and guidelines to be followed. The students were informed about the manufacturing of Daikin air conditioners. Later, they were taken to the factory units where they were shown the various assembly lines and real-time fabrication, assembly and packaging of large, medium and small air conditioning units. This was followed by a visit to the Research and Development facility of Daikin, where students witnessed various operational tests conducted on running air conditioning units. Daikin engineers also informed about the performance, efficiency and reliability of units manufactured. Soon after, the students were taken for a workshop at DJIME, where they attended a seminar on Careers and Prospects in ‘Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HAVC). The students also visited the different theoretical and practical facilities for trainees enrolled at the institute, and got introduced to various skill development programs offered by DJIME that undertakes high school, intermediate, diploma and engineering level trainees. The workshop and visit concluded at 3:30PM followed by a group photograph with college students, staff and Daikin India’s officials.
