Unique seminar at SRMS IBS, Lucknow has students discussing the impact of the PM’s schemes on Indian economy.

While students at Shri Ram Murti Smarak International Business School, Lucknow learn management concepts in the classroom everyday, and interact with industry professionals frequently, on 31 March they were offered an opportunity to learn through discussions on currently relevant topics. Their task was to focus on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much talked about schemes and their impact on the economy. As they prepared for the discussion and exchanged ideas, the students got a finer understanding of these topics.

After all, corporate professionals of tomorrow are not only required to possess management skills. They are expected to be on top of the political and economic scenarios around them. This exercise created the perfect platform for students to gain insight into the game changing National schemes. They expressed their ideas and opinions on how the schemes have affected the Indian economy, and that made for some interesting discussions.

The interactive seminar began on a rousing note as students discussed the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The ambitious social welfare scheme was initiated with the aim of providing 5 crore LPG connections to women below the poverty line across the country. But where does it stand today and what are the changes it has brought about? These are few points that were discussed in an informative session.

Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana is another much-touted scheme that was meant to take the country by storm. It went with the government’s National Mission for financial inclusion to ensure access to financial services, namely savings accounts, remittance, credit, insurance, and pensions in an affordable manner. Students debated the merits of the scheme and talked about its execution, which added further depth to the discussion.

As invigorating discussions continued, students discussed various other schemes like Digital India, Skill India and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana with a lot of passion. They also participated in an engaging role-play to reflect the impact of the schemes on the economy and rural masses in a relatable manner. Thus, through different potent learning techniques and strategies, students gained valuable insights on these crucial topics during this informative session.
