SRMS International Business School in collaboration with IIM Kolkata hosted a workshop on Entrepreneurship for the benefit of its students recently. The two day event – Carpe Diem held on the 11 and 12th of November offered students of the B School an insight into the world of entrepreneurship. They also had an opportunity to interact with an expert, who tried to encourage them to think out of the box and promoted entrepreneurial spirit amongst them.
Through a series of initiatives including seminars and workshops, SRMS IBS does its best to give its students a deeper understanding of the real life business world. This two day workshop was designed to ensure that participants have a broader understanding of new forms of innovations in business. They were also made aware of the challenges that new entrepreneurs face, and ways to overcome them.
Mrs. Pallavi shared her vast experience with the students through lectures that covered different areas of business. Right from writing Business Plans to effective Business communication, Time and resource management, she talked about various elements that help new entrepreneurs start on the right note. There were several confidence building inputs during the lectures that encouraged students to chase their dreams as well.
To keep things interesting for students, the workshop was interactive and made the most out of new age teaching pedagogy. They participated in group exercises on creativity and idea generation so that they could find innovative solutions to common issues. These exercises drove the point home with the students as they had a practical understanding of business concepts, and what makes entrepreneurs tick.
Overall the workshop motivated students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities so that they could be job makers rather than job seekers. Four students from the B School were also chosen to represent Lucknow for the final round to be held at IIM Kolkata, making it a highly fruitful endeavor.
