Critical Care Department

The Department of Critical Care Medicine at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences houses a 42 bedded
level III critical care unit with 10 bedded level II High Dependency Unit (HDU).

The Department is accredited by Indian College of Critical Care Medicine (ICCCM) as a training centre for Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM) 02 seats & Post MBBS Certificate Course in Critical Care (02 Seats) for doctors and Indian Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (IDCCN) (04 Seats) for nurses.

Two main objectives of the Department of Critical Care Medicine are excellence in Critical Care and seasoning of future specialists in critical care medicine. A didactic training program based on the core curriculum for trainees in Critical Care Medicine complements extensive clinical experience. Active role in training physicians around Rohilkhand region through regular conferences/CMEs / Workshops. The department is Catering to critically ill patients of all specialties/ super specialties under one roof. Availability of latest ventilators (MAQET-Servo-i) & Monitors (Philips – MP 40) serving needs of all types of very sick & critically ill patients.

INTEGRATED MULTI DISCIPLINARY APPROACH

Incampus round the clock availability of team of specialist, super specialist and supporting labs ensuring quick response in case of any emergent situation.

Dedicated 11 bedded Cardiac Critical Care Unit alongwith Cath Lab and DSA facility. Facilities for ECHO Cardiography, TMT, Holter, Cardiac CT Angiography- Flash, IABP and conventional angiography & angioplasty.

Patients from across the region are transported via state of the art cardiac ambulance which is fully equipped with life support systems ventilation, monitors, trained doctors, nursing staff and technicians

Backup Of Diagnostic Facilities

  • Facilities like 3T MRI, 128 Slice Dual Source CT Scan for immediate imaging of all critically ill patients.
  • Fully functional Pathology & Microbiology (VITEK) labs with an aim to quickly & accurately analyze the sample & establish a diagnosis in critically ill patients
  • Round the clock provision of blood & blood products (PRBC, FFP, RDP etc) with most advanced & upgraded blood bank in this region.
