BREAKING NEW GROUNDS: SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HOSTS FIRST-EVER DIABETES CONCLAVE’23

SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS) Bareilly recently made history by organizing the first-ever ‘Diabetes Conclave 2023’ in association with the Clinical Cardio Diabetic Society of India (CCDSI), which was a landmark event. This event was a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals, researchers, and experts to come together, raise awareness about diabetes and its complications, and discuss the latest advancements in diabetes care and management.

The conclave, organized by the Department of General Medicine, held on February 12, 2023 at Medical College building, was attended by a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including CCDSI faculties, endocrinologists and diabetologists among others, who shared their knowledge and expertise with the participants. The event was structured to include interactive sessions, panel discussions, and keynote speeches on a variety of topics related to diabetes care, and emerging treatments for diabetes.The sessions also focused on the importance of early diagnosis and management of the disease, and the need for a multidisciplinary approach to diabetes care.More than 125 delegates along with PG registered their participation from LLRM Meerut, Government Medical College Haldwani, TMU Moradabad, RHMC and RM College Bareilly.

The reputed keynote speakers at the event were eminent personalities in the field of diabetes care that included Dr Anil Kumar Virmani, President, CCDSI Jamshedpur who spoke on Diabetes Reversal or Remission-Myth Unraveled; Dr Abhishek Kumar from Patna spoke on the role of Sulphonylureas in Diabetic Management; Dr MP Rawal conducted Inter College Quiz for PGs on Diabetes;Dr Malini Kulshrestha spoke on Diabetic Care in Critically ill patient in ICU, and Dr Neelima & Dr Shruti Sharma spoke on Insulin Therapy& importance of eye examination in diabetes and pregnancy and diabetes.

The event was an apt opportunity for participants to network and connect with their peers in the field of diabetes care. Attendees were able to interact with the leading minds from the healthcare community across India, share their own experiences and learn from the experiences of others.The Organizing team of the Diabetes Conclave comprised of Shri Dev Murti, Chief Patron & Chairman SRMS Trust; Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary; Dr SB Gupta, Principal SRMS IMS and Dr Nirmal Yadav as Patrons; Dr Smita Gupta as Organizing Chairman; Dr Anil K Virmani, Dr MP Rawal and Dr MK Mehrotra as Scientific Secretaries, and Dr Shruti Sharma and Dr Deepak K Das as Organizing Secretaries of the conclave that was a great success.
