Pre Clinical Departments

The MBBS Programme is divided into three professionals. First professional is of two semesters in which Pre-Clinical (Basic Sciences i.e. Anatomy, Physiology & Biochemistry) subjects are being taught.

Department of Anatomy
The department has a Dissection Hall having sufficient number of cadavers for dissection, well equipped Histology Lab, Research Lab and a Museum having wide range of specimens, models and sections.

Para Clinical Departments

In Second Professional, para clinical subjects are taught in three semesters i.e. III, IV & V. These include Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology.

Department of Pathology
The department has well equipped laboratories to carry out clinical investigations for routine pathology, Histopathology, Cytopathology, Haematology and Immuno assay. The department also takes care of trasfusion medicine by running a well established Blood Bank. The deaprtment is instrumental in investigating the cases of Oncology. It provides facilities for investigating the cases of Oncology. It provides facilites for students to undertake prescribed and beyond the syllabus experiments in the well established teaching laboratories. A rich collection of specimens, models & charts have been collected in the museum of pathology.

Clinical Departments

The Final & Third Professional consists of 4 semesters i.e. VI, VII, VIII & IX. The subjects being taught are covered by the following departments which are fully established and have separate OPDs and Wards for efficient managmement of the patients.

Department of Medicine
The department caters to the treatment needs of patients with various diseases. It runs special clinics, such as diabetes, gastro-intestinal, allergy, asthma, hypertension and cardio-vascular diseases, endocrinology, endoscopy clinics. The department also provides its specialised services to patients with renal diseases with a back-up of dialysis unit. It also treats all categories of critically ill patients in the medical ICU of international standards.
