The ongoing FREE CANCER SCREENING & AWARENESS WEEK (JULY 1-6) at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS) Bareilly in commemoration of institute’s 23Glorious Years of Excellence, reaches to its DAY-5 today, with a focus on COLON CANCER The day commenced with awareness sessions on importance of regular screenings, early detection, effective treatment and improved survival rates.
Dr Siddhant Singh Assistant Professor, Department of General Surgery gave a comprehensive presentation on latest breakthroughs in diagnosing & treating colon cancer. He spoke on screening methods & identifying early-stage cancers before symptoms develop. This was followed by a skit performed by Paramedical students of SRMS Institute of Paramedical Sciences , underscoring the vital role of prompt medical attention & early intervention in ensuring effective healthcare outcomes.
The day’s event concluded with an insightful Panel Discussion coordinated by Professor Dr Piyush Kumar Director, RR Cancer Institute including a team of panelists — Dr (Col) RP Singh, Medical Superintendent; Dr Shubhanshu Gupta Assistant Professor , Department of General Surgery , Dr Prafull Kumar Singh Assistant Professor, Department of General Medicine ; Dr Neeraj Prajapati Professor, Department of Radio Diagnosis, who together spread awareness on timely screening for colon cancer, early signs & treatment options available, along with experiences of patients who battled colon cancer, and emerged victorious.”
