To celebrate the tireless and strenuous contributions of Dr SB Gupta, who retired from his dedicated services as Principal, SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly on March 31, 2023, a farewell get-together was organized to show appreciation and gratitude towards his services being rendered to SRMS IMS for the past 10 years. It was an emotional and joyous occasion, with heartfelt speeches and lots of laughter.
Everyone gathered with a heavy heart to bid farewell to beloved Dr SB Gupta, who has been an integral part of the institution since 2013. Each and every person present at the farewell day, felt deeply honored to work alongside someone as experienced and knowledgeable as him. His commitment to education and research has been nothing short of inspirational. He has always been a strong supporter of academic freedom and has encouraged our students and faculty to pursue their passions and reach their full potential. Under his guidance, SRMS IMS has made significant strides in research and has become a center of excellence in medical education.
During the bid adieu ceremony, Dr SB Gupta gave a farewell speech, and shared about his fruitful and contended journey at SRMS IMS that began as Professor & Head of Community Medicine in July 2013, and ended as the Principal and CMS at SRMS IMS in March 2023. He thanked everyone for being supportive in his journey, and also expressed his heartfelt gratitude for combined and coordinated efforts by all as a team under visionary leadership of Shri Dev Murti, Founder & Chairman SRMS Trust, and able guidance of Aditya Murti, Director Administration. Later, he handed over the official charge to the new Principal, Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, and sincerely hoped that under his leadership, SRMS IMS shall grow multifold.
Soon after, Shri Dev Murti wished Dr SB Gupta for this new chapter in his life with a token of appreciation in the presence of Dr Gupta’s better half, Rama Gupta, and said, “As we look back on his tenure, we are filled with gratitude for the countless contributions he has made to our institution. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in creating an environment that fosters excellence in education and research, and his expertise & guidance have been invaluable. He has always been a strong advocate for the well-being of our students, faculty, and staff, and his unflagging efforts have helped to make SRMS IMS a vibrant and dynamic community. We will miss his presence dearly, and wish him a happy and healthy retirement.”
The farewell bash was graced by Shri Dev Murti, Founder & Chairman SRMS Trust; Aditya Murti, Director Administration; Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal Designate; Dr NK Arora, Vice Principal; Dr RP Singh, Medical Superintendent; Dr Rohit Sharma, Dean PG; Dr Neelima Mehrotra, Dean UG; Dr Kranthi Kumar, DSW; Dr Rajeev Tandon, Chief Proctor along with HODs, faculty members and staff of SRMS IMS.
