As SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (IMS), Bareilly enters the DAY-2 of its on going FREE CANCER SCREENING & AWARENESS PROGRAM from JULY 1-6, the focus turns to BREAST CANCER . This initiative, on account of institute’s 23RD FOUNDATION DAY ( on July 4) garnered immense attention from the community.
The DAY-2 was marked by inspiring presence of DR. (COL) GUNJAN MALHOTRA, Mrs India Subcontinent 2024 & Ex-Senior Gynecologist at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi, a BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR. She shared her incredible journey of courage & victory over the disease. The event was an opportunity for everyone to engage directly with a true warrior.
Addressing medical professionals, students & general public, Dr Gunjan Malhotra emphasized upon early detection & regular screenings. She highlighted how practices such as yoga & meditation played a crucial role in her cancer recovery during Covid-19. The icing on the cake was her interaction session with budding medicos of Batch 2020-21.
Earlier, the day’s event saw inaugural by Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary Dr (Col) Gunjan Malhotra; Air Marshal Dr MS Butola , Principal SRMS IMS; Dr RP Singh, MS & Dr Amit Singh General Surgeon. A thoughtful skit by Paramedical students on signs, symptoms & treatment of breast cancer was a cynosure of all eyes. Later, Panel Discussion was moderated by Professor Dr Piyush Kumar , Director, RR Cancer Institute with team of panelists including Dr Siddhant Singh Onco-Surgeon & Professor Dr Manoj Kumar Tangri , Laparoscopic & Robotic Gynae Onco-Surgeon. Later, Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust & Aditya Murti felicitated Dr Gunjan with certificate of appreciation & memento.
