SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly conducted NEURO-ONCOLOGY UPDATE, focusing on ‘Optimizing the Outcome—Knowledge is the ‘Key’’. Organized by <Department of Neuro Surgery in collaboration with RR Cancer Institute & Research Centre, the CME witnessed multiple lectures & sessions. The participating delegates from Bareilly, Haldwani, Rudrapur, Lucknow, Meerut, Dehradun, Pilibhit & Shahjahanpur explored latest advancements in brain tumor treatment & Neurosurgery.
The CME was inaugurated by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust & Chief Guest Professor Dr SK Gupta, Senior Neurologist, PGIMER Chandigarh in the presence of Dr MS Butola, Principal IMS; Organizing Chairman Professor Dr Keshav Mohan Jha; Organizing Secretary Dr Shashank Sah; Co- Organizing Secretary Dr Praveen Tripathi (all from Neuro Surgery Department, IMS); Dr RP Singh, MS & other dignitaries. During his opening address, Dr SK Gupta emphasised on preservation of quality of life while operating complex brain tumors.
Eminent faculties from leading institutions like AIIMS Rishikesh, AIIMS Raebareli, Medanta Gurugram, MAMC Delhi presented various Glioma & Skull-base sessions. Professor Awadesh Jaiswal (SGPGI Lucknow) & Professor Raman Mohan Sharma (AMU Aligarh) discussed about brain tumor removal through binocular method. SRMS Medicos Dr Neeraj Prajapati, Dr Pavan Kumar & Dr Himanshi spoke on current advancements in detecting brain tumor & treating cancer through radiotherapy. Dr Kuntal Kanti Das & Dr Arun Srivastava (SGPGI Lucknow), and Dr Piyush Kumar & Dr Praveen (SRMS IMS) discussed the challenges faced during the treatment of brain tumor. The CME finally concluded with an informative panel discussion moderated by Awadesh Jaiswal.
