SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES LAUNCHES MBBS ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2024 WITH ENGAGING SESSIONS & COMPREHENSIVE INSIGHTS

SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly has commenced with its 14-day long Orientation Programme — the Foundation Course of MBBS 1st Professional, Batch 2024 — from October 8-21, 2024, with a comprehensive agenda to acquaint students with academic and professional dimensions of their new campus life.

The highlights of the Foundation Course include academic sessions on roles of Indian medical graduate & its societal impact, awareness on history of medicine, national health goals & policies, critical role of communication in medical practice, hostel decorum, along with field visits & health check-ups etc. Debate, Dancing & Singing Competition, Extempore, Mad Ads, Dramatics, Sports & Yoga Sessions; Mentor-Mentee Program, along with prestigious White Coat ceremony are the added highlights of the ongoing Foundation Course.

The DAY-1 began with a welcome speech by Dr (Air Marshal) MS Butola, Principal IMS, followed by an interactive and fruitful parent-teacher meeting in the presence of HOD, doctors and faculties of SRMSIMS. Earlier, Dr Bindu Garg, Dean UG gave an overview of MBBS curriculum, while Dr Rahul Kumar Goyal, Professor & HOD, Department of Microbiology, IMS enlightened the students with anti-ragging guidelines. He also ensured everyone about ‘Zero Tolerance’ of the institute towards any sort of ragging activities.

However, the subsequent days of Orientation Programme is also going to highlight upon discussing alternate systems of medicine, mastering medical waste management, patient-care, understanding of ethics among healthcare professionals, significance of immunization, community health service initiatives, lifelong learning for professional growth, stress management & mental health, medical negligence, professionalism in use of social media, time management & so on.
