With a selfless & humanitarian act of compassion that can save lives and make a significant impact on the well-being of everyone, SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly <\/strong>in association with Department of Transfusion Medicine & Department of Community Medicine<\/strong> at SRMS IMS <\/strong>observed WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY <\/strong>on June 14,<\/strong> 2023 at SRMS IMS, SRMS Goodlife Hospital and SRMS College of Nursing, Bareilly <\/strong>with an array of activities, highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation in support of health and welfare of individuals in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an inspiring theme \u2018Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often\u2019<\/strong>, the event began with welcome address by Anupriya<\/strong>, BSc Nursing 3 rd semester student, followed by PPT presentation on importance, purpose, advantages of blood donation and precautions to be taken during blood transfusion, including a role play by GNM 2 nd year students. The five-day activities had awareness talks on \u2018Voluntary Blood Donation: Facts and Myths\u2019,<\/strong> which targeted rural & urban communities at the Rural Health Training Centre, Dhaura Tanda Village & Urban Health Training Centre, Bareilly. In association with Bareilly\u2019s Nath Nagri Raktdan Sewa Trust & Giants Group,<\/strong> Voluntary Blood Donation Camps at Alakhnath Mandir & SRMS Goodlife<\/strong> collected about 51 units of blood. Later, Air Marshal Dr MS Butola,<\/strong> Principal SRMS IMS and Prof Rintu Chaturvedi,<\/strong> Principal SRMS College of Nursing shared valuable insights on blood donation and blood transfusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The noble cause was successful with collaborative efforts of Dr Milan Jaiswal,<\/strong> Professor & Head; Dr Aakriti Baijal,<\/strong> Assistant Professor; Dr Pragya Bhardwaj,<\/strong> Junior Resident\u2014Department of Transfusion Medicine; Dr Huma Khan,<\/strong> Professor & Head; Dr Dharmendra Gupta, <\/strong>Associate Professor; Dr RC Gupta<\/strong>\u2014Department of Community Medicine; Dr Sushma Raturi<\/strong>, Medical Superintendent; Swapan Gupta<\/strong>, Centre Coordinator\u2014SRMS Good Life Hospital; Nitin, Keshav<\/strong>\u2014Marketing & Technical Team; Harshita Harbola<\/strong>, Assistant Professor; Heena Praveen<\/strong>, Nursing Tutor\u2014SRMS College of Nursing etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
