FROM BAREILLY TO BILLION-BYTE: HOW SRMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE SHAPED THE GRIT BEHIND A FORBES-FEATURED TECH FOUNDER SRMS Alumnus Utkarsh Srivastava now features in Forbes India for building ₹200 Cr fintech & privacy SaaS firm, Securelytix When Utkarsh Srivastava entered SRMS College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bareilly, he was like most students — hopeful, curious, and unsure of the future. What he didn’t know was that his journey would earn him a spot among India’s most inspiring tech leaders, featured in Forbes India’s Leaders of Change 2024 for building Securelytix. Behind the headlines lies a quieter, more human story, of foundations built in classrooms, challenges faced in college, and ideas nurtured slowly & steadily. “SRMS didn’t just give me an education; it gave me space to think,” says Utkarsh, BTech (EC) alumnus, Batch 2007–11 and Co-Founder & CEO of Fstac. “The environment was honest and grounded. Faculty pushed me to ask better questions, not just find answers. From late nights debugging projects to mentor discussions, every experience shaped who I’m today.” It was at SRMS CET that Utkarsh learned to code, lead, and adapt. The college’s labs and initiative-driven culture shaped him into not just a techie, but a thinker and doer. Over time, he honed his fintech, API, and data compliance skills, eventually launching Securelytix; now supporting secure data infrastructure across BFSI, healthcare, and public sectors in India and the UAE. Backed by strategic advisor Mr Natrajan (former CFO, Ratan Tata’s UC-RNT Fund), Utkarsh’s firm is scaling rapidly. Yet, he stays rooted in the values SRMS instilled—resilience, clarity, and courage to defy norms. As India moves toward a data-driven future, his journey proves that innovation doesn’t always begin in metros or Silicon Valley; sometimes, it starts in the quiet corridors of a campus like SRMS, where a curious mind is given the rightContinue reading
