Industrial Visit to Secure Meters Limited Udaipur

Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET) Bareilly organized
an Industrial Visit to Secure Meters Private Limited, Udaipur (Rajasthan) for a group of 18 Students
of B Tech Final Year of the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering along with Rajesh
Gangwar, Assistant Professor (EN) and Er Smita Dinker, Assistant Professor (EN) on November 15,
2022. However, the aim of the visit was to create a strong relationship between Industry and Academia by
creating technical awareness about cutting-edge technology among students.

Speaking about the organization and the industrial visit, Dr Anuj Kumar, Director-Training,
Development and Placement Cell, SRMS CET,
Bareilly said, “Secure Meters Limited is a multi-
National solutions provider for Revenue Management, Power Quality and Energy Efficiency that enables
users to save money, reduce energy consumption and facilitate comfortable living. It started its operations
in the year 1987 at the advent of the electronic age. By combining Indian frugal engineering with the best
theoretical developments in the global metering domain, Secure Meters was able to create the world’s
first commercially viable energy meter. Their 30-year journey has taken them from the provincial town of
Udaipur to all Indian states, and their products are now installed in over 50 countries. More than 6,500
people work with them across India, UK, Australia, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore and Sweden.”

During the visit, the students were briefed about the organization regions across the world where Secure
Meter is doing business, and also about the organizational policy and culture of the company. They were
apprised with the products along with the electricity meter company manufacture like Gas Meters, Home
Control Display Meters, Pump Efficiency Meters etc. A practical demonstration of meter manufacturing,
assembly, testing & packaging was also given to the students. Later on, students visited the production
plant, where the production managers briefed the students about the production process and also answered
their queries.
