REVOLUTIONIZING KIDNEY STONE TREATMENT VIA ‘RIRS’: DR MAHESH TRIPATHI’s PIONEERING WORK AT SRMS GOODLIFE HOSPITAL

At SHRI RAM MURTI SMARAK (SRMS) GOODLIFE HOSPITAL, Bareilly , innovation meets expertise through the remarkable contributions of DR MAHESH TRIPATHI , a MCh gold medalist & one of the leading Urologists, Uro-Oncologist, Andrologist & Renal Transplant Surgeons in the field, who has introduced the highly advanced procedure known as Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS) for removal of kidney stones.
This cutting-edge technique offers numerous benefits, including very quick & hassle-free recovery, minimal blood loss, and the absence of any surgical cuts. Well, under Dr Tripathi’s leadership, SRMS Goodlife Hospital continues to set new standards in patient care & medical excellence.

Speaking about the procedure of RIRS, Dr Mahesh Tripathi explains, “Previously, removing kidney stones required a surgical procedure with a small incision in the back to pull out or break the stones. But, this new RIRS technique is a revolutionary, minimally invasive option that avoids any cuts or stitches, thereby preventing kidney injury. It is a painless procedure with no blood loss &early recovery. This latest procedure involves the use of flexible ureteroscope inserted through the urethra into the bladder that passes through ureter into the urine-collecting part of kidney, where, using RIRS technique, the stone is fragmented by a laser fiber. Most importantly, this technique isbenefitted for patients having stones upto 20 mm in their old age, or those dependent on blood-thinning medications, or with dealing with heart conditions.”
