Dear Colleagues,
All India Ophthalmological society is the apex body of Ophthalmologists in India and has been in force since 1930, promoting dissemination of knowledge in the speciality since then, with continuous endeavors to reach the length and breath of the country in the pursuit of excellence in the technologically one of the most advanced fields of medicine and surgery.
AIOS prayogshala is one such efforts whereby SRMS IMS along with Bareilly Ophthalmologists Society will be holding Dry and Wet labs on Glaucoma diagnosis & follow up, lasers and surgery on the last weekend of February 2025 falling around the time that the world holds Glaucoma Awareness programs for the public.
Furthermore, the conference shall also exhibit a video film festival as an interdisciplinary event not only showcasing wonderful medical and surgical recordings worthy of note to post graduates and under graduates and practicing specialists and super specialists as well, but also subtly hint at the beauty of vision enabling the fortunate to see and cherish preserve and protect this sense of sight in themselves and in their patients.

About the Institute
Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly, a vision conceptualized in year 2002, is the most modern 1200 bedded multi super speciality tertiary care hospital and a recognized medical college. It caters the health needs for patients residing in a radius of 150 kms of Bareilly zone reaching up to farthest border towns of Uttarakhand & Nepal. The Medical College (recognized by Ministry of Health, Govt. of India and approved by Medical Council of India, New Delhi) offers medical courses for Undergraduate (150 MBBS seats), Postgraduate (107 MD/MS seats) and Super speciality (3 DM (Neurology) and 3 MCh (Neurosurgery). The Institute is undoubtedly par-excellance for providing care to patients and training UG & PG students.
About the Department
The department of ophthalmology at SRMS is the leader in the region for the largest number and most advanced technology of cataract surgeries performed as well as implantation of premium intraocular lenses tailored to meet every individual patients visual needs. Cataract surgeries are done under local anesthesia, popularly known as “No Needle Cataract Surgery” where the patient goes home within 2 hours of the operation and visual rehabilitation is fastest. High volume free of cost cataract surgeries are done under the National Programme For Control of Blindness (NPCB) scheme. Implantation of Extended Depth of Focus, Trifocal, Multifocal, Toric and other IOLs offering the patients youthful and spectacle- free vision is a well-known highlight of the department. Refractive surgical procedures including implantable contact lenses are also done to provide spectacle independent emmetropia.
The department has a 40 bedded ward (34 general beds and 6 HDU beds) along with its own seminar room, museum and library. The department takes pride in catering to a high volume patients inflow and surgical load with outcomes.
