Dear Seniors, Friends & Students,

I really feel privileged to have an opportunity to welcome you all to the forthcoming XVI annual conference to be held at Sri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly, UP, India on 6th , 7th-8th February, 2020 on behalf of UP- UK Chapter of Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists. The theme of the conference is “Paradigm Shift in the Current Clinical Microbiology” which is the need of the hour not only for all the medicos but also to the common man. I hope that the scientific feast will induce the clinical microbiologists to express their full potentials in the field of diagnostics, research and training. The primary mandate for a medical microbiologist is to develop techniques for rapid diagnosis, development of new drugs, newer vaccines, tracing of outbreaks and epidemics, projection of current antibiotic resistance pattern to formulate local as well national antibiotic policies for the hospital and the community, and execute good hospital infection control practices along with spreading the awareness in the community about the preventable aspect of infectious diseases. All these objectives can be accomplished only by the collaborative effort by the laboratory, clinicians and active participation of the community. Let us make it convenient through exchange programs for the faculties and the students with the aim of taking research and diagnostics of both the states at par with the national and international levels.

Looking forward to see you at beautiful campus of Sri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly and also to the world fame Jim Corbett National Park where part of the academic feast will be served.
