The Department of Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Paramedical Sciences (SRMS IPS), Bareilly organized a guest lecture on ‘Blood Transfusion’, which was delivered by Special Guest & Keynote Speaker, Ankit Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Lab Techniques at Bareilly International University. The lecture, especially designed for OT students, proved to be a valuable educational experience that offered in-depth insights on Blood Transfusion, its classification & components.
The engaging session began with welcoming of the guest with a plant sapling by Payal, In-charge, OT Department, in the presence of Dr Shivank Chaudhary (PT), DSW; Rajeev Kumar & Vikas Kumar, Tutor, OT Department; Mohabbat Khan & Gulshan Bi, Assistant Professor, OT Department & several others. The guest speaker elucidated the role of blood transfusion, wherein students were also explained about transfusion reactions. Overall, it was a fruitful session, wherein students interacted with guest speaker enthusiastically and cleared their queries.
Sharing his views, Gaurav Karki, a BOTT student from Batch 2021 who attended the lecture, said, “It was truly an enlightening & informative session. We gained insights into Blood Transfusion, its process, details about plasma, and precautions before and after the transfusion etc.”
