The students of Optometry at Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Paramedical Sciences (SRMSIPS), Bareilly observed World Optometry Day while recognizing the importance of optometry in preserving vision and improving eye health. Dr Neelima Mehrotra, Dean UG at SRMS IMS graced the event as the Guest of Honor, and shared her views on the ‘importance of vision and the field of optometry’. The event was also an opportunity to salute the hardworking optometrists who are committed to providing top-notch eye care services to our patients.

The program began with a welcome ceremony and giving away of the plant sapling, which was followed by cake cutting ceremony. Soon after, Dr Neelima Mehrotra addressed the gathering and provided an in-depth knowledge on optometry, its applications and the career prospects within the industry. She further explained how optometry has changed over time, its current state, and the technological tools available today that can help eye care professionals provide better patient care. Various posters were showcased during the event to further educate the students on the significance of eye care. A video on the importance of eye care and various facets of optometry made by optometry students was also showcased that remained the highlight of the event. The event was a great opportunity for the students to get a glimpse of the field of optometry, and its role in protecting our vision and maintaining eye health.
