Goal of the Programme
The LL.B. (3 years) Programme has been designed for taking up Law course as a graduation. This course can be taken after completion of graduation in any stream. Taking into view the needs of various legal industries. The programme will be regularly updated to cope with the ever-changing legal demands of the industry. Our goal is to provide the requisite platform to budding lawyers and law professionals to sharpen their reasoning, analytical and communication skills along with requisite legal knowledge so that they can meet with confidence the future challenges of law. Emphasis is laid on enhancing computer skills, soft skills, moot court, reading & comprehending the judgments.
SRMS College of Law is affiliated to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule University, Bareilly. Therefore, candidates seeking admission in SRMS College of law must register themselves with University through online portal (www.mjpru.ac.in). And after the University registration candidates have to register themselves at SRMS college of Law, through personally present at the College.
(As per rules the of BAR Council of India, Rule 7 of Legal education 2008) Candidate must have completed his/her Graduation degree (in any stream) not below 45% of total marks for GENERAL candidates, and not below 40% of total marks for SC/ST candidates. Provided that such a minimum qualifying marks shall not automatically entitle a person to get admission into an institution but only shall entitle the person concerned to fulfill other institutional criteria notified by the institution concerned or by the Government concerned from time to time to apply for admission.
(As per the rules of BAR Council of India), Every student may be required to do at least 3 (Three) moot courts in a year. Every student shall be required to attend at least 2 trials in the course of last two or three years of LL.B studies. Each student shall have to undergo 12 weeks internship under NGO, trial or appellate advocates, judiciary, legal regulatory authorities, legislatures and parliament, other legal functionaries, market institutions, law firms, companies, local self-government, and other such bodies as the university shall stipulate where law is practised wither in action or in dispute resolution or in management. However, internship in any year cannot be for a continuous period of more than 4 (four) weeks and all students shall at least gone through once in the entire academic period with trial and appellate advocates.
