Shri Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Paramedical Sciences (SRMSIPS), Bareilly conducted a Guest Lecture on the topic ‘Basic Life Support’ on February 14, 2023, which was delivered by the Special Guest and Key Note Speaker, Dr Dheeraj Saxena, Associate Professor, SRMS IMS Bareilly.
The program began with welcoming the guest and giving away of the plant saplings. During the guest lecture, Dr Dheeraj Saxena introduced the term Basic Life Support and explained it as a type of care that first-responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway. He also highlighted the procedural steps for the Basic Life Support and the fact that it improves the survival rate of patients. He further talked about the use of defibrillation, which helps in restoring the heart’s normal rhythm.
The benefitted and targeted audience of the lecture was students of BSc in Operation Theater Techniques(BOTT), who got an insight about the significance of Basic Life Support and the techniques to use it. They learnt about the various benefits and procedures, which must be followed in such an emergency.
Later, the Key Note Speaker thanked the college for inviting him and arranging this conversation. He also expressed his gratitude towards Dr Ashish Chauhan, Vice Principal (PT) SRMS IPS, and all faculty members for their presence and helping him in active conversation with students.
