To celebrate the auspicious festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Tyro club of SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly recently organized a Group Dance event on the theme ‘Shri Ganesh’ with great enthusiasm.

The cultural dance extravaganza saw various colleges of SRMS Trust Institutions as participating teams, namely SRMS CET, SRMS CET (Pharmacy), SRMS CETR, SRMS IMS, SRMS IPS, SRMS College of Nursing & SRMS College of Law, Bareilly

The event began with Saraswati & Ganesh Vandana along with ceremonial lamp lightning by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust in the gracious presence of Smt. Asha Murti, SRMS Trustee; Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dean Academics, CET; Dr LS Maurya, Principal CETR; Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal IMS; Dr Jaspreet Kaur, Principal IPS; Dr Arti Gupta, Director Pharmacy; Dr Sovan Mohanty, DSW; Stuti Saxena, Tyro President & other dignitaries. The cultural curry kicked-off with electrifying performances by talented teams who were spotted flaunting colourful and traditional attires. The performances exhibited a fusion of classical & contemporary dance forms, symbolizing the harmony between tradition & modernity while portraying the essence and relevance of Lord Ganesha.

Later, the winners of Group dance competition were announced wherein SRMS IMS grabbed first prize with a cash reward of ₹3000, while the second & third prize winners were SRMS CET & SRMS CET (Pharmacy), receiving a cash prize of ₹2000 & ₹1000 respectively.

SRMS TRUST INSTITUTIONS CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH GREAT GUSTO & GRANDEUR

With the spirit of freedom and love for the nation, SRMS Trust Institutions namely SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), SRMS Institute of Paramedical Sciences (IPS), SRMS College of Nursing, Bareilly; SRMS Functional Imaging and Medical Centre (FIMC), Lucknow celebrated 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm on August 15, 2023. The celebration not only showed unity and devotion, but also carried the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav under the initiatives of Meri Mati Mera Desh and Har Ghar Tiranga.

The event began with floral tribute to Late Shri Ram Murti ji and our beloved Bapu Mahatma Gandhi, followed by flag hoisting, performed in all the SRMS Trust Institutions by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust in the presence of Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary; Er Subhash Mehra, Trust Advisor; Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dean Academics; Dr LS Maurya, Principal CETR; Professor Rintu Chaturvedi, Principal SRMS College of Nursing; Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal SRMS IMS; Dr Neelima Mehrotra, Dean UG & Head, Department of Ophthalmology; Dr Rohit Sharma, Dean PG; Lt. Col.AleyammaVG ,Chief Matron SRMS IMS; Dr Jaspreet Kaur, SRMS IPS Principal and several other dignitaries. At FIMC, Lucknow, the flag hoisting ceremony was performed by Ambica Murti, Director FIMC, in the presence of Dr Ashutosh Parashar from Department of Nuclear Medicine, and Radiologists—Dr Shivi Mohini and Dr Ashish Gupta.

The I-Day celebrations proceeded with a national anthem, signifying unity, togetherness and brotherhood. The highlight of the celebrations at all SRMS Trust Institutions was the student’s choir group, who enchanted the gathering with heartfelt and emotional patriotic songs in their melodious voices. Later, Shri Dev Murti delivered a motivating speech, emphasizing about the groundbreaking advancements in both educational and medical sector, especially the latest milestone achieved through robotic surgeries. He urged students to gain knowledge from books instead of relying heavily on the internet. The event concluded with vote of thanks and prasad distribution, and nurtured a sense of national pride and progress among everyone.

SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly relived its joy and appreciation as the institution marked its 22nd Foundation Day with great enthusiasm on July 4, 2023, and paid deepest respects to Late Shri Ram Murti, a Freedom Fighter & Ex-Member of Parliament, in whose name this Medical Institute is flourishing every day. The Foundation Day is a day of twin-celebrations that also resonate with the birthday of Shri Dev Murti, Chairman, SRMS Trust, wherein he cut the cake & received heartfelt wishes from everyone.

The Foundation Day commenced with an auspicious ‘Hawan’ seeking God’s blessings. This was followed by celebrations held at auditorium, wherein, welcome address was given by Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal SRMS IMS. Thereafter, Shri Dev Murti gave motivational address, wherein he honored the tireless efforts of SRMS doctors & bestowed testimonials on their exceptional contribution in healthcare. Reflecting on SRMS IMS humble beginnings, Shri Dev Murti said, "We commenced our journey on July 4, 2002, with an OPD of 50 patients, which has grown up to 2200, which is a great achievement. This tremendous growth reflects the unwavering dedication of our extraordinary doctors, who provide hope to patients coming from various regions & parts of India.” Soon after, Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary, SRMS IMS congratulated everyone on 22 nd Foundation Day & threw light on growth & success of SRMS over the years.

Later, Shri Dev Murti applauded the achievements of SRMS Medicos, wherein 10 doctors received promotions & 5 departments were appreciated for successful conduction of State Level & National Conferences. The Department of Cardiology was recognized for exceptional work. Special accolades were also given to doctors for their exceptional work. Shri Dev Murti also acknowledged the support of SRMS IMS, Paramedical & Nursing Staff.
The MOC of the event was Dr Surabhi Chandra, Professor & HOD, Department of Pediatrics, SRMS IMS. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, guests, HODs, faculty members, staff and students of SRMS Group of Institutions.

SRMS TRUST INSTITUTIONS CELEBRATED INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY & IGNITED A MINDFUL REVOLUTION

With an aim to promote holistic well-being, International Yoga Day was observed at SRMS Trust Institutions, namely, SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), SRMS College of Nursing, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), Bareilly on the theme ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.

The event kicked-off with energetic yoga asanas early morning, wherein faculty members & students indulged in some fitness exercises and rigorous workout, & pledged to incorporate yoga into their daily lives for a healthier well-being. Later, an engaging seminar was conducted on “Role of Yoga and Balanced Diet in Healthy Lifestyle” by Dr Deepak Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Physiology, SRMS IMS, wherein he explained the history of yoga, its effects on the body and mind, the importance of a balanced diet etc. On account of yoga day, a presentation was also given by BSc Nursing third year students. Thereafter, Renu Bohra, Yoga Instructor, SRMS CETR & Shankar Pal, Sports Officer, SRMS CET undertook a wellness session and emphasized on the significance of yoga & its health benefits on body & mind.

To celebrate the remarkable achievements and success of its brilliant & beaming graduates, the grand 10th CONVOCATION of SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (IMS) & SRMS INSTITUTE OF PARAMEDICAL SCIENCES (IPS) Bareilly was held recently at SRMS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECNOLOGY (SRMS CET), Bareilly.

From the very first day these graduates stepped foot into the corridors of this esteemed institution, they embarked on a journey that shaped them into healthcare leaders of tomorrow. However, the Convocation ceremony was indeed a moment of immense pride for the degree recipients, their parents, faculties & professors, who’s joy, emotions & pride could be seen on their happy faces. The momentous occasion began at 10:30 AM with assembly of dignitaries and other participants of Convocation Procession in the Robbing tent, followed by an academic procession. After ceremonial lamp lighting, welcome address & blessings were given by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust in the presence of Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary, followed by Annual Report Presentation by Dr MS Butola, Principal, SRMS IMS.

The Convocation was declared ‘open’ by Professor KP Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. The inspiring & motivating Convocation Address was delivered by Chief Guest, Dr (Lt Gen) Bipin Puri, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, (Retd), Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, wherein he shared powerful anecdotes, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees. Thereafter, the Guest of Honor, Dr (Lt Gen) Narendra Kotwal, SM, VSM, Director & Commandant, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune expressed his deep gratitude,congratulated SRMS management, faculty & degree recipients for grand success. Later, 216 graduates of SRMS IMS & SRMS IPS took ‘Deeksha’ given by Professor KP Singh, followed by NMC/ MCI Oath by Dr MS Butola, & were handed over degrees, certificate of honors & medals by the dignitaries on dais. 7 overall toppers were awarded with Gold Medals & Cash Prizes.

Towards the end, mementos were presented to Professor KP Singh, Dr (Lt Gen) Bipin Puri and Dr (Lt Gen) Narendra Kotwal by Shri Dev Murti. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr RP Singh, Medical Superintendent & Convocation was declared ‘close’ by Professor KP Singh, followed by National Anthem.

With an aim to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage collective action to protect our planet, WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY was observed on June 5, 2023 at various SRMS Trust Institutions respectively, namely, SRMS IMS, SRMS IPS, SRMS CET, SRMS College of Nursing, SRMS CETR etc on the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’.

The event began with welcoming Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust in the presence of Air Marshal Dr MS Butola, Principal SRMS IMS; Lt. Col. RP Singh, Medical Superintendent, SRMS IMS; Professor Rintu Chaturvedi, Principal, SRMS College OF Nursing; Dr Arti Gupta, Director Pharmacy; Dr LS Maurya, Principal CETR; Aneesh Chandran, Vice Principal SRMS College of Nursing & other dignitaries.

The Department of Community Medicine at SRMS IMS coordinated several fruitful activities, campaigns & initiatives like Tree Plantation Drive, which was organized to promote reforestation and mitigate climate change, wherein several doctors of IMS along with Pradhan of adopted villages (Prahladpur, Ghangora-Ghangori, Parsunagla, Miapur, Dhimmi, Dhaura Tanda), MSWs & volunteers planted saplings in designated areas & community spaces. To address the issue of litter & waste management, Plastic Clean-Up Campaign was initiated on the theme ‘No plastic-less paper day’, wherein MBBS students exhibited posters on different themes to highlight environment conservation & sustainable practices. A Small Portion Serving activity took place to ensure less food wastage, where in lunch at hospital mess & hostels were served in small portions. Later, Awareness Sessions on the ban of single use plastic were also conducted among patients and attendants. Joining the brigade, the Pharmquimica Club of SRMS CET organized poster presentation & plantation drive, wherein 16 medicinal plants were planted in the herbal garden. Joining in the celebrations, a seminar was conducted by BSc third-year Nursing students, followed by PPT presentation, Mime and ‘Jam Just a Minute’ competition, which added to the celebrations.

‘VICTORY, CELEBRATION & CAMARADERIE’—SHRI RAM MURTI MEMORIAL INTER-SCHOOL CRICKET TOURNAMENT COMES TO AN EXCITING CLOSE

Exhibiting some fun-filled & thrilling cricket action for cricket buffs in town in pursuit of giving young talent an opportunity, Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) Trust, Bareilly recently organised a mega Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament 2023, affiliated to Bareilly Cricket Association (BCA) from April 15-25, 2023 at SRMS Cricket Stadium in SRMS CET, Bareilly, wherein 17 prominent schools of Bareilly participated in the exciting battle.

The grand Cricket Tournament ended with a breath-taking finale played between Mission Academy, Baheri, Bareilly and Vidya Bhawan Public School, Bareilly on April 25 after a series of closely contested 16 matches that were played in this 10-day tournament. The finale began with greeting and wishing both the team’s good luck. The toss was won by Mission Academy who chose to bat first. After gruelling innings and thrilling encounter, Vidya Bhawan Public School, Bareilly emerged as astounding & ultimate winners of Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2023 against Mission Academy (Baheri), Bareilly scoring 114 runs over a loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs (target set by Mission Academy was 113/6 runs). The finale was not less than a roller coaster ride for both the teams and spectators both, and the tournament was surely a wonderful display of exuberant sportsmanship.

The gala closing ceremony at the end of the finale was graced by Chief Guest Rekha Yadav, DRM, NE Railways, Izzatnagar, Bareilly in the presence of Shri Dev Murti, Chairman, SRMS Trust; Aditya Murti, Trust Administrator; Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dean Academics, SRMS CET; Sita Ram Saxena, Secretary BCA; Er Subhash Mehra, Trust Advisor; Dr LS Maurya, Principal SRMS CETR and Dr Sovan Mohanty, Chief Proctor, SRMS CET.

Later, the Winning as well as Runners-up team were awarded with majestic trophies by the esteemed guests. The ‘Man of the Match’ (finale) was given to Siddharth Pal (Vidya Bhawan); ‘Man of the Tournament’ was clinched by Mohd Arif (Mission Academy) and ‘Best Bowler’ was bagged by Lakshya Sharma (Vidya Bhawan). Thereafter, the closing ceremony culminated with the distribution of prizes and mementos to the respective guests.

On the occasion of 75th World Health Day on April 7, all the Medical Institutions of SRMS Trust namely SRMS IMS, SRMS IPS and SRMS Nursing, Bareilly marked the day, wherein Department of Community Medicine at SRMS IMS organized a week-long Health Camp from April 3-10, 2023 on the theme ‘Health for All—75 Years of Improving Public Health’, with multiple health-related activities to raise awareness and motivate action to tackle the health challenges of today and tomorrow. The Nursing students at SRMS College of Nursing also celebrated the day with a PPT & Poster
presentation on traditional & modern lifestyle and its effects on our health.

SRMS IMS Community joined in this awareness day with galore of informative and inspiring activities like WHO Nationwide IAPSM (Indian Association of Prevention & Social Medicine) QUIZ for MBBS Batch 2021; General Health Camp at Old Age Home near Lal Fatak Badaun Road, wherein 125 inmates were screened & 77 counseled; Thematic poster presentation on public health and national programs by MBBS Batch 2022; Awareness Talk on the importance of right to health; Health Camp at Village Ghanghori Ghanghora under Family Adoption Programme by mobile telemedicine bus for MBBS Batch 2021; Health Education through Visual Display highlighting institute’s role in providing high-quality health services; Nukkad Natak by SRMSIPS students on ‘Health For All’ etc.
