Football fever is taking India by storm, with an ever-expanding fanbase and a surge in young talent eager to make their mark on the global stage. Recognizing this rising enthusiasm, Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) Trust is adding yet another milestone to its legacy by launching the SRMS Football Academy on January 1, 2025.
This visionary initiative aims to nurture young talents and elevate football in Uttar Pradesh. The academy is dedicated to developing players of all levels, focusing on tactical acumen, technical proficiency, physical fitness & mental resilience.
Equipped with cutting-edge facilities such as advanced training ground; a fully equipped gymnasium; on-site & off-site medical and physiotherapy support for injury prevention & rehabilitation; air-conditioned hostels providing a home-away-from-home environment; and educational facilities, the SRMS Football Academy is designed to produce well-rounded players, who can compete locally & globally. At the age of just 18, Gukesh has made history as the ‘youngest-ever World Chess Champion’, bringing immense pride to India & inspiring a new generation of chess prodigies.
This landmark victory has not only etched his name in the annals of chess history, but also paved the way for a brighter future for Indian chess on the global stage.
In a celebration of honoring talents across several events, the two-day cultural extravaganza ‘ZEST 2024,’ based on theme ‘Virasat – A Legacy to Hold,’ organized by Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) Trust Institutions in collaboration with Tyro Club of SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly concluded with grand Prize Distribution ceremony. The major highlights of ZEST wereAlumni Meet, Battle of Bands, Renaissance, Street Play, Group Dance & DJ Night.
During the ceremony, winners were recognized for their exceptional performances in Duet Dance, Mime, Rangoli Making, Mehendika, Paper Fashionista, Treasure Hunt, Ace of Mandala, Pirate Hunt, Rap Battle, Multi-scene, Doodle Art, Sketching, Zest Got Talent, Gratis (Hand Free Paintings), Duet Singing, Situational Antakshari, Alphabet Arena, MRC Open Events, Solo Singing, Solo Dance, Sketching, Painting, Short Play, Face Off, 3D Sculpturing etc.

Based on theme, ‘Virasat — A Legacy to Hold’, the major highlights of ‘Zest’ were Alumni Meet, Battle of Bands, Renaissance, Street Play, Group Dance & DJ Night.
The last day showcased an impressive mix of talent & tradition with a standout performance in Street Play on theme ‘Pravha’. Group Dance enthralled the audience with high-energy performances, followed by most-anticipated DJ Night, where groovy Bollywood hits turned the campus into a pulsating dance floor. Various events like Gratis (Hand Free Paintings), Duet Singing, Situational Antakshari, Alphabet Arena, MRC Open Event (Reel Making & Virasat Vision), Solo Singing, Solo Dance, Sketching, Painting, Short Play, Face Off, 3D Sculpturing added to the day.
Zest culminated with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony wherein Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust felicitated the winners in the presence of Asha Murti & Usha Gupta, Trustees;Dr Prabhakar Gupta Principal CET; Dr MS Butola, Principal IMS & other dignitaries.

The DAY-1 was inaugurated by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust, officially declaring the fest open while encouraging everyone to honorour ‘Virasat’ by continuing the legacy of planting sapling & maintaining cleanliness of the River Ganga. He also unveiled Fine Arts Gallery &Informal Pandal, themed ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ & ‘Halloween’ respectively. The event was graced by Richa Murti, Director, SRMS Goodlife Hospital; Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Principal CET; Dr Shailendra Deva, Vice Principal & Dean Research; Dr Anuj Kumar, Director TDP Cell; Dr Arti Gupta, Director Pharmacy & Dr Shailesh Saxena, Dean Academics, CETR.

Divyanshu Chauhan, President of Tyro, delivered an insightful address, offering a glimpse into tremendous efforts behind Zest’s preparations through a compelling video presentation. The formal proceedings concluded with vote of thanks by Tyro Secretary, Puja Karakoti.
