SRMS CET & R, organized a three-day hands-on Cyber Security Bootcamp

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research, in collaboration with the Value Addition Cell and under the supervision of IIC- SRMS CET & R, organized a three-day hands-on Cyber Security Bootcamp on “Ethical Hacking – Hack to Protect” from February 19 to February 21, 2026. Held from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM in the New Seminar Hall, the bootcamp was specially designed for B.Tech III year students to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in the domain of Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking through interactive sessions and hands-on demonstrations.

The bootcamp was conducted by Mr. Harshit Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, SRMS CET & R. The training began with students learning and understanding the basic setup required for ethical hacking practices. During the bootcamp, students were introduced to advanced topics including Google Dorking techniques and how search engines can be used for information gathering in cyber security. The trainer explained the importance of using such techniques ethically and responsibly. On the final day, a test was conducted to evaluate the understanding of the participants.

The bootcamp culminated with a certificate distribution ceremony where Dr. Manvi Mishra, (HOD, CSE), presented a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Harshit Yadav in gratitude for successfully conducting and completing the workshop. Dr. Mishra emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital era. She also stressed the importance of ethical responsibility while learning hacking techniques. Referring to the increasing incidents of cybercrime worldwide, she encouraged students to develop ethical hacking skills to protect digital assets and contribute positively to the society.
