On 4th Feb 2016, the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering had organized an industrial visit for students of the B.Tech. (III Year) who were accompanied by two faculties of the department. The visit was to the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, situated at Choupla, Bareilly.
The group was taken to the training hall first and the session was started with how BSNL contributed to develop telecom sector in India foremost as soon as visiting the BSNL office. Within the office premises, students were taken to different sections of the BSNL like Switching Section, Main Distribution Section, Power Plant Section and Broadband Section and were elaborated working of DLU, EWSD,ADSL,DSLAM etc. by BSNL personnel. The chief engineer at BSNL discussed the functioning of main distribution frames and electronic exchange situated there. He addressed the students about how the voice & data is routed between different location exchanges using Ring topology.
