SRMS IBS Inspiring Insights: Students Embark on an Industrial Visit to The Times of India
On 31st January 2025, BBA, BCA and B. Com(H) second year students had the opportunity to visit the Times of India printing press located in Lucknow. The visit aimed to provide insights into the printing process and the operations of one of the largest newspaper publishers in India.
During the tour, students were guided through various stages of the printing process, from pre-press to post-press operations. They observed the advanced technology used in printing, including high-speed printing machines and automated systems that ensure efficiency and quality. The operational staff and managers of the production department at the press shared valuable information about the challenges and innovations in the printing industry, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and digital transformation.
The visit concluded with a Q&A session, where students engaged with the professionals, gained a deeper understanding of the media landscape and career opportunities in journalism and printing. Overall, the industrial visit was an enriching experience that enhanced the students’ knowledge and appreciation of the printing industry.
