3-DAY 69th STAG UP STATE TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP KICKED-OFF TODAY

Sports are a crucial to growth and development in everyone’s life, and keeping up with the high spirits to promote sports and fitness for holistic development, Shri Ram Murti Smarak Trust is organizing and sponsoring a 3-day long ‘69TH STAG Uttar Pradesh State Table Tennis Championship’ (UPSTTC: 2022) in the memory of Late Shri Ram Murti Ji from October 28th-30th, 2022 at SRMS Indoor Stadium, SRMS CET Campus, which kicked-off today.
The tournament is promoted by UPTTA Stag International, Meerut, and conducted by District Table Tennis Association Bareilly under the aegis of UPTTA, Lucknow.

DIGNITARIES ON STAGE
The event saw an inaugural function on October 28th performed by Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dean Academics, SRMS, CET Bareilly, in the presence of Er. Subhash Mehra, Member of Advisory Committee, SRMS Trust, and several other dignitaries, by lighting the ceremonial lamp and presenting garlands as well as planting samplings, to promote the concept of green and clean environment.
During the inaugural, Dr Sovan Mohanty, Chief Proctor, SRMS CET, Organizing Secretary and Convener of 69th UPSTTC-2022 and Dr Deependra Kamthan, Secretary-District TT Association, Bareilly were also present. Referees and umpires of national and international repute also graced the occasion including Preetam Singh, Aniket Singh and Arvind Upadhaya among many others. The last day shall witness the final matches in men and women categories. The prize distribution and closing ceremony of the championship shall take place on October 30th, 2022 in the presence of Chief Guest, Shri Dev Murti, Founder and Chairman at SRMS Trust, Bareilly and Aditya Murti, Trust Secretary.

COMPETITIVE ARENA
The championship will witness 550 matches, along with the participation of around 325 players including women, men, and children in 12 different categories in three days. The enthusiastic players from 25 districts of UP represented themselves in the championship namely, Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Balia, Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Etawah, Firozabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lucknow, Mathura, Meerut, Mirzapur, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Renukoot, Saharanpur, Sultanpur, Sonbhadra and Varanasi.

AWARDS & REWARDS
The total cash prize from SRMS Trust, UPTTA Lucknow and STAG International Meerut for the championship is Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 each respectively.
