Today, SRMS Trust Institutions commemorated the 38th Smriti Diwas of Late Ram Murti Ji (October 2), a Veteran Freedom Fighter, True Gandhian, Ex-Parliamentarian & Former Minister, UP, at SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly, celebrating his enduring legacy, values and vision of empowering lives through education, service & opportunity.
The day began across SRMS CET, CETR, Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Goodlife Hospital & Riddhima with floral tributes to Late Ram Murti Ji, Mahatma Gandhi & Lal Bahadur Shastri, followed by flag hoisting by Shri Dev Murti (Founder & Chairman, SRMS Trust) and Aditya Murti (Trust Secretary). A soulful musical tribute by SRMS Riddhima Gurus added to the solemnity.
A key highlight was the prestigious Ram Murti Pratibha Alankaran, conferred by Shri Dev Murti, honouring three distinguished personalities for their contributions to excellence and service:
- (Dr.) Jayant Khot: Chairman, UP Sangeet Natak Akademi, Lucknow
- (Dr.) Rajendra Prasad: Director, Medical Education, Era University, Lucknow
- Preeti Arora (Alumni, Batch 1996–2000): Technology Executive & Digital Transformation Leader, Bengaluru
The occasion also witnessed Academic Scholarships worth ₹3.5 Crore being awarded to 732 meritorious students of SRMS Trust Institutions.
Winners of the National Annual Debate Competition were felicitated with the prestigious Chal Vaijanti Trophy:
- Senior Category: MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly: Abhay Singh (For) & Lavi Singh (Against)
- Junior Category: The Guru School: Kratika Gangwar & Akshita Pandey
Continuing the spirit of service central to Smriti Diwas, a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was also organised, encouraging the noble act of donating blood and saving lives.
The occasion was graced by SRMS Trustees Asha Murti & Usha Gupta; Richa Murti (Director, SRMS Goodlife Hospital); Trust Advisor Er. Subhash Mehra; Guru Mehrotra (Board of Governors, SRMS Trust); and distinguished guests including Shahzil Islam (MLA, Bhojipura); OP Rai (Principal, Bareilly College); Supriya Aron (Ex-Mayor, Bareilly); Dinesh Dutta (Mahanagar Adhyaksh); Dr Rita Sharma (Advisor, SRMS Riddhima), alongside Principals, Heads, faculty and staff of SRMS Institutions. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Aditya Murti.
