A session that not only informed but sparked ambition, guiding students to turn their ideas into real impact.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), in collaboration with the Value Addition Cell and IIC–SRMSCET&R, hosted an inspiring Start-Up Workshop titled “Idea to Impact: Translating Research into Ventures”.

The workshop brought together B Tech students from all batches for an engaging and eye-opening session led by Dr Himanshu Agarwal (AIC IIT Delhi). He broke down how innovative ideas can evolve into real, market-ready ventures, showing students what it truly takes to move from research papers to impactful startups. The key highlights were ‘Introduction to Bharat Byte Semiconductor Startup Accelerator’, empowering semiconductor-based innovations, and, ‘Overview of the BHARAT Safety Program’, promoting safety-driven advancements in the startup space. Both initiatives are powered by AIC IIT Delhi & FITT IIT Delhi, with CSR support from Cadence and HONDA, giving students an exciting glimpse into national-level opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

Dr Agarwal also emphasized how research-driven startups can transform India’s tech and economic landscape, encouraging students to think boldly, innovate fearlessly, and consider entrepreneurship as a meaningful path to societal change.
