THINK YOU’RE SAFE ONLINE? THINK AGAIN: SRMS ENGINEERING & RESEARCH COLLEGE BREAKS DOWN CYBER SECURITY FOR THE REAL WORLD

The digital world is evolving fast, and so are its risks…

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at SRMS College of Engineering, Technology and Research, in collaboration with EC-Council and the Value Addition Cell, under the supervision of IIC–SRMS CET&R, organized an insightful webinar on “Cyber Security” for B Tech CSE and BCA students to highlight the growing importance of digital safety.

The session featured keynote speaker Siddharth Tiwari (Senior Manager, EC Council), who shed light on safeguarding digital assets, personal data, and organizational systems in an increasingly connected world. He emphasized the rising risks of rapid digitalization and the urgent need for stronger security measures.

From phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering to practical safeguards like strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and secure browsing, the webinar covered it all. Students were also introduced to Ethical Hacking and its crucial role in identifying vulnerabilities and strengthening systems. Graced by HODs and faculty members, the session turned into an engaging learning experience, and encouraged safer digital habits while inspiring students to explore cybersecurity as a powerful career path.
