With an aim to raise awareness about strokes/ brain attacks, its causes, symptoms, treatment & the importance of timely intervention, the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing at Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) College of Nursing, Bareilly observed World Stroke Day recently with an engaging Poster & Quiz Competition. The event was hosted well by Anju Singh, Assistant Professor & Neha Mathpal, PG Tutor from SRMS Nursing College.
The day focused on fostering a deeper understanding of this critical healthcare issue, and began with a welcome speech by Sakshi Singh, BSc Nursing 3rd year & Priyanka Solanki, BSc Nursing 4th Semester students. The day featured a brain storing Quiz Competition, wherein 4 teams, categorized as A, B, C & D participated, showcasing their knowledge & expertise. This competition unfolded in 3 intriguing rounds, keeping participants and spectators engaged throughout. Simultaneously, an eye-catching poster competition drew the creative talents, wherein nearly 13 students crafted informative posters related to World Stroke Day.
Later, Aneesh Chandran, Vice Principal, SRMS College of Nursing announced the winners. In poster competition, Shruti, BSc Nursing 2nd Semester; Priyanka Singh, BSc Nursing 4th Semester & Sanjana, GNM 1st year clinched first, second & third prize respectively; whereas in quiz contest, Ashit Priya, BSc Nursing 4th Semester; Riya, BSc Nursing 2th Semester; Sanjana, GNM 1st year and Prateek & BSc Nursing 1st Semester emerged victorious.
