On account of World Leprosy Day, the Department of Community Health Nursing at Shri Ram Murti Smarak (SRMS) College of Nursing, Bareilly recently commemorated World Leprosy Dayon the theme ‘Beat Leprosy’& fostered a united commitment towards eradicating this chronic infectious disease. Held under the guidance of Ronald Obediah, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Health Nursing at SRMS College of Nursing, the event that was well hosted by Saloni Pal, BSc Nursing student (Batch 2021), witnessed various activities meticulously designed with the aim of raising awareness about leprosy. The programme kicked-off with an informativepresentation by Shraddha Gangwar, BSc Nursing student (Batch- 2020), Jyoti (GNM Batch-2023), Dhanmaya, Ajay & Ansh—from GNM Batch 2022, wherein they shared insights on leprosy, its symptoms, prevention & treatment options. Moving further, a role play was conducted by BSc Nursing &GNM students, wherein real-life scenarios were highlighted, which helped in better understanding about the challenges faced by patients affected with leprosy. Later, Professor Aneesh Chandran, Vice Principal, SRMS College of Nursing addressed the gathering &appreciated the participants for their hard work& efforts. Towards the end, a vote of thanks was delivered by Anupriya Singh, BSc Nursing student (Batch 2021).
