SRMS COLLEGE OF NURSING CHAMPIONS BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS DURING WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK!

On account of World Breastfeeding Week, the Department of Pediatrics at SRMS College of Nursing, Bareilly organized a series of impactful activities on the theme “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents”. The theme sought to underscore the crucial role of breastfeeding in the lives of working parents. This noble initiative aimed to raise awareness regarding breastfeeding among lactating mothers, expectant women and general public.

The week-long event commenced with Poster Making Competition based on the said theme, followed by Rangoli Competition, witnessing active participation of students. Adding an educational dimension to the activities, GNM students of Batch 2021 delivered an informative Health Talk, whereas MSc first- & second-year students conducted a seminar. Later, BSc Nursing students of Batch 2020 performed Nukkad Natak at Bhairpura & Bareilly respectively.

Finally, the winners were announced on the basis of their presentation skills, confidence & creativity. In poster making, Harmandeep Kaur (BSc Nursing 2nd semester), Arti (GNM 2nd year) & Priya (BSc Nursing 3 rd semester) secured first, second & third positions respectively. In rangoli making, Priya (BSc Nursing 2nd semester) & Shazmin (GNM-Batch 2023) grabbed first position while Baby & Harsh Prabha (GNM-Batch 2023) attained second position, whereas Ruchi, Rakhi, Laxmi, Shivani from GNM-Batch 2023 secured third position. The competition was adjudged by Professor Rintu Chaturvedi, Principal, and Professor Aneesh Chandran, Vice Principal, SRMS College of Nursing, and Parashram, Associate Professor, Community Health Nursing Department.

At the end, Professor Rintu Chaturvedi applauded the students for their significant contributions towards breastfeeding awareness.
